How do I give through the Northland Community Foundation?
The Northland Community Foundation has been developed to support individuals, families, businesses and groups of like minded individuals invest their philanthropic dollars to build a permanent legacy in the communities they live and work.
We provide a range of options to suit your needs and have the expertise to work with you so your investment makes a difference.
Gifting and Bequests
Donations in Your Will
Funds over $50,000 become a Named Fund, with associated privileges – you can choose which charities receive annual distributions from your Named Fund and an annual report will be provided to the fund holder/executor.
Bequest Form for Individuals – Establishment of a Named Endowment Fund.
Bequest Form for Couples – Establishment of a Named Endowment Fund.
Donations during Your Lifetime
- Any donation of $5000 or more will be added to the Pohutukawa (General) Fund and tracked in the name of the donor and once the fund reaches $50,000, Named Fund privileges will apply.
- Any donation under $5000 is welcome and will be added to the Pohutukawa (General) Fund or to a project fund when requested.
- Donations during your lifetime could qualify for a tax credit.
- Donations can be made by direct credit to the Northland Community Foundation: (bank account to be provided currently changing it)

Private Charitable Trusts
If you have a charitable trust or are considering establishing one, talk to us about how we can help. We can assist with compliance requirements, future Trustee succession planning and asset transfers for your Trust fund.
Payroll Giving
Payroll giving is a voluntary scheme for employers and employees helping you to support good causes in the most tax-efficient way by giving directly from your pay.
Employees in participating companies donate to a chosen donee organisation that has Inland Revenue approved status.
Northland Community Foundation is an approved donee organisation.
